Wing Foil FAQ
What differentiates Wing Foil from other water sports, such as kitesurfing or windsurfing?
Wing Foil combines the best sports: you'll use an inflatable wing to catch the wind without being connected to the board, like kitesurfing, or you can use a rigid sail, like in windsurfing. It's lighter and can be practiced in lighter winds.
Is previous experience in water sports required to practice Wing Foil?
It's not necessary. At Waterplay, we'll teach you the basics, from balance on the board to handling the wing. However, learning will be quicker if you already have experience in other water sports.
What kind of weather conditions are ideal for Wing Foil?
Light to moderate winds, between 10 and 20 knots, are ideal for Wing Foil. Calm waters make learning more accessible, and the Turks and Caicos Islands offer perfect conditions.
How long does it take to learn to fly with the board?
Like any sport, the learning time varies from person to person, but with the guidance of our instructors, you'll progress quickly.
Is Wing Foil a sport suitable for all ages?
Yes, it is a sport suitable for all ages, as long as you have a primary physical condition. We offer classes for adults and children from 12 years old.
